Automotive & Intelligent Transport Systems

The Connected Vehicle market will be worth $358bn by 2020.  The GSMA has been working with MNOs and automotive OEMs to accelerate the growth in this market. Collaborative efforts have led to:

  • GSMA Embedded SIM Specification becoming a de facto standard
  • GSMA IoT Security guidelines being backed by major mobile operators
  • advancements in car connectivity through billing and charging.

Going forward multimodal transport will mean fully integrating connected cars into today’s intelligent transport systems. Through the Connected Vehicle Forum the GSMA works closely with key automotive and transport industry stakeholders on this and many other topics.

The Connected Vehicle Forum brings together mobile operators with industry players to guarantee market progression continues. Key topic areas include:
